Rachel Kane Psychology

I’m a registered psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience, specialising in trauma and the long‑term impact it can have on emotional, physical, and relational wellbeing.

Over the years, I’ve worked across private practice, community mental health, hospitals, and specialist trauma services. These experiences have shaped a practice that honours the complexity of trauma while empowering clients to reclaim their sense of self, safety, and possibility.

Between 2015 and 2022, I worked as a Senior Psychologist at the Psychological Trauma Recovery Service (PTRS) at Austin Health, the statewide trauma service for people experiencing and impacted by workplace trauma.

I have worked extensively with first responders, emergency service workers, journalists, asylum seekers and refugees who may be impacted by their exposure to traumatic stress.

My goal is simple: to help you move from surviving to living with confidence, connection, and meaning.

Organisational or workplace employee assistance

Rachel has over a decade of experience working with organisations to help them manage psychological wellbeing of employees in their workforce. Rachel has established methods and interventions to help employees and managers to navigate through mental health challenges.

Rachel helps employees to identify issues, work out which of their concerns are work related and which are personal and then provide support and strategies to deal with their concerns. Rachel provides tailored solutions to suit each business and employee – no two people or businesses are the same!

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people heal best when they feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. I integrate a range of evidence‑based approaches, including:
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where I work and live. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging. I celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
